Our Veterinarians

Allan McNeel, DVM

Dr. McNeel received his DVM from the University of Georgia in 1985. He began working at CLVH in March 1993. He lives in Winfield with his wife. They have a dog (Stone) and a cat (Rocky). He enjoys woodworking, gardening, and hiking. Dr. McNeel excels in orthopedics (such as the TTA and TPLO) and soft tissue surgeries.

Julie Starcher, DVM

Dr. Starcher began working at CLVH in July of 1995 after graduating from Ohio State University with her DVM. She lives in Cross Lanes with her three sons. They share their lives with their dog (Bella) and cat (Spot). She enjoys spending time with her children and photography. Dr. Starcher excels in ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.

Allison Dascoli, DVM

Dr. Dascoli received her DVM from Tuskegee University in 1998 and began working at CLVH in June of that year. She and her husband live in Charleston with their two daughters. They share their lives with their dogs (Choco & Jewels) and their four cats. She enjoys ballet, spending time with her kids, and cooking. Dr. Dascoli excels in dentistry, preventive medicine, and internal medicine.

Dr. Dascoli is a certified Cat Friendly Veterinarian.

Stacey Leadmon, DVM

Dr. Leadmon graduated with honors from the University of Georgia in 1992. She began working at CLVH on July 5, 2000. She lives in a Hurricane with her husband. Her son attends WVU and her daughter practices law in NC. They share their lives with their four dogs (Evee, Murphy, Burt, and Bonnie). She loves shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family. Dr. Leadmon excels in dermatology, internal medicine, and infectious diseases.

Kim Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith received her DVM from Auburn University and joined the CLVH team in June 2004. She lives in Charleston with her family. They share their lives with their dogs (Derby, Julep, & Woodford). She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Dr. Smith excels in ultrasound, endoscopy, and soft-tissue surgery.

Dr. Smith is a certified Cat-Friendly Veterinarian.

Chelsea Hantke, DVM

Dr. Chelsea joined our team in June of 2019. She received her degree from the University of Georgia in 2015. She lives in Hurricane with her husband, two sons, and cat (Zazu). Dr. Chelsea excels in soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, and ultrasound.

Bailey McKemy, DVM

Dr. Bailey joined our team in 2024. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. She received her bachelor’s at WVU in 2020 with a major in Animal & Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Equine Assisted Therapies where she worked as a student therapeutic riding instructor.

Our Staff

Tony

Tony joined our team in 2002. He works as a veterinary assistant in surgery. He lives in Dunbar with his wife (Sherrie) and son. He has a dog (Willie) and a cat (Pecia). He enjoys hiking, traveling, and sports.

Christina

Christina is our hospital manager. She has worked at CLVH since January 2004. She lives in Big Chimney with her husband and two children. They share their lives with their dogs (Maverick and Stevie) and cat (Charlie). She enjoys beekeeping, WV football, and spending time with her kids.

Mollie

Mollie started with CLVH in April 2007. She graduated from Carver Career Center with a degree in Veterinary Technology in May 2009. She shares her life with her dogs (Drax, Capri, Zena, and Jackson). She enjoys walking her dogs and boating.

Mollie is a registered veterinary technician.

Sherrie

Sherrie has worked at CLVH since August 2007. She works as a veterinary assistant in treatment. She lives with her husband (Tony) and son. She has two grown boys as well. She has a dog (Willie) and a cat (Pecia). She enjoys relaxing, watching TV, and spending time with friends and family.

Andi

Andi began working at CLVH in April 2012 as a receptionist. She currently lives in Scott Depot with her menagerie of rescued pets. Andi has been active in animal rescue for over 17 years and has a big heart for all animals. She enjoys fostering, reading, writing, photography, and vegetarian cuisine.

Rachel

Rachel started working with us in September 2012. She works in treatment and dental. She currently lives in St. Albans with her dogs (Hamilton and Frankie). She enjoys hiking, watching movies, and playing video games.

Sarah

Sarah started working at CLVH in August 2014. She works in treatment and dentals. She lives with her husband, son, dog, and cats.

Kayla

Kayla joined our team in 2015. She loves working out and has a love of reptiles. She has her dogs (Mia, Gimli, Bjorn, and Baron) and 4 snakes.

Kayla is a registered veterinary technician and a certified pet nutrition coach.

Amanda M.

Amanda started at CLVH in 2016. She loves hiking with her dogs (Junebug, Flash, and Ellie) and spending time with her sister. She currently lives in South Charleston with her dogs and cats (Remington, Nugget and Elmer).

Amanda M. is a registered veterinary technician and a certified canine rehabilitation professional (CCRP).

Alex

Alex joined our team in January 2017. She works as a veterinary assistant in the lab. She lives in Cross Lanes with her husband, dogs (Bentley, Opi, Mina, and Kimchi), and cats (Lily and Liam). She likes fishing, camping, and anything outdoors.

Amanda P.

Amanda started working with us in April 2017. She works in rooms as a veterinary assistant. She lives with her husband, cats (Roxy, Hoss, and Shelby), and dog (Dobby). She enjoys swimming, playing video games, and relaxing.

Katie P.

Katie worked with us from 2011-2014 and then started back with us in 2017. She works in reception. She lives with her husband and cats (Nippet, Greedo, Myrtle, and Seven). She likes antiquing and thrifting.

Katie H.

Katie started working with us in July of 2018. She works as a veterinary assistant in rooms. She shares her life with her husband, son, and dogs.

Asia

Asia started working at CLVH in September of 2018 as a receptionist. She lives in Dunbar with her husband, daughter, dogs (Frenchie, Major, Cali, Deuce, and Buddy), and her niece and nephew. She likes to spend time with her baby and crafting.

Karissa

Karissa started working with us in April of 2019. She works as an assistant in rooms, lab, and surgery. She lives in Hurricane with her husband and dogs (Ruger, Athena, Ashes, and Otis). She likes to coupon, kayak, and fish.

Gina

Gina joined our team in 2019 as a receptionist. She lives with her fiancé, son, and daughters. She has two dogs (Beau and Oreo) and four cats (Omni, Ozzy, Trigger, and Izzie). She enjoys spending time with her family.

Lea

Lea started working with us in 2019 as a receptionist. She enjoys taking care of her four cats, two birds, and multiple fish.

Amy B.

Amy started working with us in July 2019. She works in treatment and surgery. She lives in Cross Lanes with her husband, sons, daughter, dogs (King and Piper), and cat (Mustachio). She likes going to WV football games and outdoor activities.

Harley

Harley started working with us in 2019. She works in treatment and surgery. Harley enjoys hiking and kayaking. She lives with her cats (Kase and Bronson) and dogs (Zuri, Buddy, and Piper).

Crystal

Crystal joined our team in August 2020. She is a veterinary assistant who works in rooms and treatment. She lives with her husband on their farm in Poca. She has four children and 3 grandchildren. Her life stays busy on the farm with her cats, dogs, horses, cows, pigs, and chickens. She loves spending time with family, camping, boating, and fishing.

Heather

Heather joined our team in August 2020. She works as a veterinary assistant in treatment and surgery. She lives in Elkview with her family and dogs (Beau and Izzy). She enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Cheyenne

Cheyenne joined our team in November of 2020. She lives in Nitro with her fiancé, cats (Alex, Tux, and Hazelnut), and dogs (Hope and Indiana). She enjoys reading and kayaking.

Mandy

Mandy joined our team in March 2021. She has two bachelor’s degrees from Marshall (Environmental Science and Natural Resource and Recreation Management). She is now pursuing a degree as a registered veterinary technician. She lives with her husband, dogs (Kona, Shiro, and Jäger), and cats (Schnapps, Calypso, and Lavinia). She has one stepchild and enjoys attending concerts, playing video games, and traveling. She works as a veterinary assistant in our treatment area and surgery.

Amy M.

Amy joined our team in 2023. She enjoys watching anime, playing video games, and spending time outdoors. She lives with her husband, 22 cats, and 14 dogs.

Jimetta

Jimetta joined our team in 2023. She works as a veterinary assistant in rooms. She has two cats (Luna and Londy). She enjoys traveling, fashion, food, and music.

Madison

Madison started at CLVH in 2023. She works as a veterinary assistant in rooms. She lives in St. Albans with her dogs (Ranger, Daisy, and Abel) and cats (Eve and Eden).

Maddie

Maddie joined our team in 2024. She works as a veterinary assistant in treatment. She shares her life with her cats (Asher and O’Malley) and dogs (Gunner and Maggie). She enjoys being outside and spending time with loved ones.

Frannie

Frannie joined our team 2024. She works as a veterinary technician in treatment and dentals. She shares her life with her beloved Chihuahua.

Frannie is a registered veterinary technician.

Morgan

Morgan worked for us from 2020-2023 and re-joined our team in 2024. She works as a veterinary assistant in treatment. She shares her life with her dogs (Tux and Marble) and cat (Burnie). She enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and playing video games.
